PLACES TO VISIT:
If retail therapy is your thing, there are lovely village shops within the forest that are well worth a visit, offering friendly advice, good service and competitive prices. You will always find "something special" to take home to remember your visit by. For the shopaholics we have Southampton (with the new Ikea) Portsmouth,(Gunwharf Quay), Winchester and Sailsbury. All can be reached in less than an hour. Local markets include: Lymington (Saturdays), Ringwood (Wednesdays), Wimbourne (Sundays), Salisbury (Tuesdays & Saturdays), New Milton (Wednesdays). Burley has a farmers market once a month. Other places to see and do include: Exbury gardens, Beaulieu motor museum,Bucklers hard, Sammy Miller motorcycle museum, Burley villa horseriding stables, Country lanes cycle hire and Liberty"s raptor and reptile centre. We have some very good pubs/resturants locally. Hare & hounds, Rising Sun, White Buck inn, And then for something special, there is the Gordleton Mill, Egans (Lymington), Pebble beach (Barton on Sea) plus lots more.
